Sata lasissa
Ever since I started gardening I've paid much more attention to the weather, particularly in the springtime. Day temperatures over 0C would be perfectly normal for this time of the year, but no, we're getting more snow and are definately below zero. Can't wait for the spring to arrive with vengeance. Mother Nature, in case you read this blog, sooner rather than later, pretty please? :)
This is Hepatica, also apparently known as European Liverwort (what a lovely name). It is one of the essential spring flowers here in Finland, growing mainly in the southern woodlands.

Our high temperature today was -2C and our low last night was -14C. Also yesterday we got 18cm of snow. Strangely enough, I think that was the most snow we got in one day this whole winter. But you are not alone in finding winter too long.
And it just doesn't seem to stop! Last time I checked, the forecast is a steady -7C every single day 'til Sunday. Oh well.. :)
