Great expectations
The weather has been lovely. Every day I look out the window and wish I was in my garden instead of at work. The first daffodils are beginning to bloom on the southern sides of houses, but I live some 100 kilometres south of my garden and in a city. That makes a marked difference in the progress of spring, even though the Baltic sea tends to cool the air somewhat.
Below is the daffodil that had developed the farthest last Sunday. Would it be too much to hope to see it at least nodding slightly by next Saturday? It is of the variety Golden Harvest. Last fall I planted Rijnveld's Early Sensation, which is supposed to be the earliest variety. So far it hasn't been early, or a sensation either. But since it's a first timer, I guess I have to cut it some slack. I've got a total of 22 brand spanking new varieties of daffs to wait for. Only one or two weeks to go!
Melkein olen valmis pistämään rahat likoon Pionin puolesta.
